Cham Temples, Local Crafts & Hoi An After Dark

Spend a full day combining My Son Sanctuary with local food experiences and Hoi An’s historic town. Depart from your Hoi An hotel in the morning for a guided walk among My Son’s temple remains, then visit a local house to learn rice paper making. After lunch at another local home, travel back toward Hoi An by boat on the Thu Bon River.

Morning at My Son & Local Lunch

Pickup is listed for 7:30–8:00 AM, with arrival at My Son around 9:30 AM and approximately two hours exploring the site. Traditional Cham performances are subject to the day’s schedule. Continue to the rice-paper activity, then have lunch around 12:30 PM before the river journey back toward Hoi An.

Afternoon Heritage Walk in Hoi An

After a short break at your hotel or a café, begin the town visit around 2:30 PM. The listed sights include Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, Phung Hung and Tan Ky houses, the Traditional Performing Arts House and Japanese Bridge. The sequence and performance access depend on local arrangements. There is time to browse craft shops and galleries before dinner.

Evening Lantern Boat & Return

Around 6:00 PM, take a boat on the Hoai River and release a flower lantern, followed by time around the night-market area. Hotel return is planned around 6:30 PM. Confirm meal, boat and attraction inclusions for your booking, and advise the team of dietary or mobility needs. This is a long sightseeing day with outdoor walking and two different river experiences.

Morning

Uncover the rich cultural heritage of central Vietnam with the My Son Sanctuary & Hoi An City Full-day Tour. Begin your journey at the ancient Cham ruins of My Son, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that offers a glimpse into the remarkable architectural and religious traditions of the Champa kingdom. Continue to the picturesque riverside town of Hoi An, where you can wander through the well-preserved historic center, admire the unique blend of Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese influences, and immerse yourself in the vibrant local culture.

7:30-8:00 am: Our guide picks you up at your hotel in Hoi An and departs to My Son Sanctuary – The World Cultural Heritage.

9:30 am: Arrive at My Son and we’ll have 2 hours to discover the site by walking through the landscape, learning histories with our local English-speaking guide, and enjoying the Champa’s traditional performances. Then, get back to the minivan and move to a local house to learn how to make rice paper, you will enjoy your own hand-making product later on!

Afternoon

12:30 pm: Back to the van and have lunch at another local house, relax with cold herbal tea, nice food, and fresh air. Followed by a boat trip to Hoi An, the largest river in Central Vietnam named Thu Bon River.

1:30 pm: Arrive in Hoi An, we’ll take you back to the hotel to rest or you can take a rest at coffee shop around an old town (about an hour) and prepare for your next trip to Hoi An ancient town. About

2.30 pm: Coming to Hoi An Ancient Town, you will visit: Visit Phuc Kien Chinese Assembly Hall for ancestor worship and family altar viewing. Explore well-preserved old houses like Phung Hung and Tan Ky Ancient Houses. Enjoy art shows at Hoi An Traditional Performing Arts House. Visit the Japanese Bridge, a 400-year-old bridge connecting Japanese and Chinese communities. Explore Hoi An’s handicraft shops and artwork galleries. Enjoy a dinner with Hoi An specialty food.

Evening

6.00 pm: Enjoy your time with the boat ride on Hoai River and release the flower lanterns to pray for the best lucks to you and your family. You will immerse yourself in the fanciful space of the lantern street. Free your time with the night market and enjoy the shimmering space of Hoi An.

6.30 pm: Return to your hotel. End of our services!

Hoi An is only a 45-minute drive (30 km) south of Da Nang, usually done via private car or shuttle. Travelling from Da Nang to Hue takes about 2.5 to 3 hours (100 km). The most scenic option is by private car crossing the spectacular Hai Van Pass, or via the coastal train which offers wonderful ocean views.
Key highlights include the UNESCO-listed Hoi An Ancient Town (best explored on foot in the evening), the imperial tombs and Citadel in Hue, the Golden Bridge at Ba Na Hills, the Marble Mountains in Da Nang, and the spectacular cave networks of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park.
Hoi An is incredibly safe and peaceful. The old town blocks motorized vehicles starting in the late afternoon, making it a pedestrian and cyclist paradise. Street lighting is gentle, supplemented by thousands of colourful silk lanterns. Normal travel precautions apply, but violent crime is virtually non-existent.
